20 women receive a financial boost
Lockdowns globally are dreaded by many because of the adverse effects it has on the economy. Unfortunately, we went into our 2nd lockdown in June of 2021 which put a strain on the women’s finances. In doing so, they were forced to abandon their agricultural projects in order to feed their families, pay rent and other utilities.
In December of 2021 as we closed the year, with the help of our generous donors, we gave a hand up to the women in our SACCO with donations to help them revive their businesses.
20 of these women had been saving up the whole year but because of the lockdown, they fell short for a couple of months. We decided to top up on their behalf so as to boost their incomes and give them enough to scale or revive their businesses.
Most of the women we work with are farmers and retail shop owners. They mainly grow maize and beans and sell to contacts in the main city markets.
The women were overwhelmed and truly grateful for thinking of them. We are thankful to our donors. This impact would not have been achieved without your financial support. May God richly bless you all!
